What's Inside A Black Hole?

Image
Most of us don’t use textbooks or rather don’t even open them except when the exam season arrives, they are just used as a way of “learning” things for the sake of academics. But sometimes during a boring lecture, we come across a word or a concept that suddenly lights up the bulb of our curiosity. This happened to me quite a few times, and the topic I chose today is one of those “concepts that I really don’t understand but they sound cool”. Well not exactly, but yeah that was the case during my 8-9 th grade. Well then, Let’s continue with the topic. Ever learned a mechanism or a concept from science and wondered, “How would it feel to be able to observe this from the inside?” I have always wondered how it feels to actually experience celestial occurrences or phenomena, though it’s not possible for me, or rather any human as of now to go and actually do these things in space. One of the things that made me curious was “Black holes”. What are they exactly? Just an after-death st

What is Mental Health? and Why does it matter?

Image
Image Credit  Well Well, hello there, it’s been a while since I have written/published anything at all. But here I am! Back with a new, interesting, or rather unexpected topic. “Mental Health and Depression”, might not be according to the liking of my usual readers, but I felt mentioning this topic was necessary. Along with that, I had a bit of curiosity about this myself. So, without any further ado let’s begin. First of all, What is mental health? Health as a general term is used to describe the current condition of your body. Similarly, Mental Health is basically the state or the condition of your brain and “heart” i.e., the emotions Mental health includes our psychological as well as social well-being. It determines one’s ability to handle a situation, manage emotions and stress, Decision-making abilities, and so on. A person’s mental health can change over time, depending on many factors. When the demands placed on a person exceed their resources and coping abilit

Dead ? Alive ? Or Both ?

Image
Today we will know that whether we are Dead ? Alive ? Or Both ? with the help of a theory ! Lets begin, Schrödinger's cat refers to a thought experiment proposed by physicist Erwin Schrödinger. He used it to show the weirdness of the quantum theory. So, what is the quantum theory then ?, The theory says : “Until a particle is measured and observed, it exists in all the states it could possibly be”. So, if there is a probability that, “Particle A” can be in a state at position “x” it will exist in a different state at position “y” and eventually the particle would exist in all its states ! This is called “Superposition” and when the particle is measured and observed the Superposition collapses and the particle starts to exist in a single state unlike before, then you might say “If this is true then it should apply to larger objects since all matter is made up of particles.”. But of course we know that that does not happen. We observe larger objects occupying only one state. So, Sc

What does the Arrow of Time mean ?

Image
In this blog I am going to tell you about time and the arrow of time. We’ve all sat in class looking at the clock and waiting for the class to get over. You might have even worried about the hands would go backwards…...But, of course not ! that’s not possible. There are many things we don’t know about time but yet we all seem to encounter many of its behaviors in our daily life, one of which is “The difference between space & time”. In space we can move as far as we want and even go backwards or turn in any direction but however with time there is an “Irreversibility” that happens. For example, you have enjoyed your weekend without any kind of work but you can just go back in time enjoy that weekend over and over again skipping Monday, this is called the irreversibility of time. It’s just like an arrow, it can’t be stopped or brought back to the bow from which it was fired. This may define an aspect of time but how can we d

What is Hawking Radiation ?

Image
To know about hawking radiation, first you will need to have a basic idea about “Black Holes”. When a massive star dies, it leaves a dense remnant core. If the mass of that core is  3 times more than the mass of our own sun then the gravitational force overwhelms all the other forces and because of this a Black hole is formed. A black Hole isn’t just an empty space instead it is a space where a lot of things are packed into a very small area. Just think about it, A star that is 10 times bigger than our sun and then it being squeezed into a small area whose diameter maybe as small as a city ! The gravity in the black hole is so Strong that even light and X-rays cannot escape ! Until 1974 when Stephen Hawking put down the theory of Hawking Radiation, it was believed  that the black hole doesn’t emit or radiate any kind of energy. But this changed because of the Hawking radiation theory which was made by combining Quantum mechanics and Einstein’s general theory of relativity. According th

What is Quantum Tunneling ?

Image
Quantum Tunneling isn’t a law or a part of the physics we learn in our day to day life but it is part or we can say a theory of quantum Mechanics. First of all, let me tell you what is Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics means study of matter at atomic or sub-atomic levels. Quantum Mechanics is a theory which is very complex to understand and may seem crazy to a normal person   Now, let me tell you about Quantum Tunneling…… Quantum Tunneling allows us to go through or pass to a barrier obstructing us. It may be a physical substance, vacuum or a region of high potential energy. For example, According to physics the body needs to have enough energy to pass or travel from one point to another. But Quantum Mechanics says that the body can travel the distance even if the body doesn’t have enough energy to travel (As in classical mechanics). And in the case of Quantum Tunneling, we know that the matter is either wave or a particle and while Quantum Tunneling the wave force starts to act an
